Heirloom Vs GMO's

Heirloom plants are among the most desirable plants because of their reliability and sustainability if you know how to save the seeds. Heirlooms may go through  'stabilization' where the plant reverts back to the parent. These plants, because of their long history are reliable sources of food for years to come. GMO's (genetically modified organisms) are modified in order to give them desirable traits found in other organisms such as size, taste, color and yield. Heirlooms and GMO's are both beneficial to farmers as they are both working toward a common goal to increase quality crop.

At the end of the day all GMO's are not bad and Heirlooms are good. GMO's have been around long before the hype. Yes, heirlooms are beneficial, however, GMO's should not be written off because the fear labeling on food products.
