Physical Activity Reduces Breast Cancer

Practicing a sport or doing some physical activity for about an hour a day can reduce the risk of contracting breast cancer, which applies to women of all ages and weights in any geographical location. This research was presented to the 9th European Breast Cancer Conference reported by Professor Mathieu Boniol is the research director at the International Prevention Research Institute in France. Professor Boniol reported the results of 37 studies published between 1987 and 2013 which looked at the relationship between physical activity and the risk of breast cancer. Women taking Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) seemed to cancel the healthy affects of exercise but there is an increase in awareness of taking this drug which decreases the use of HRT. Researchers also found that the protective role of physical activity is present in other cancers as well and is independent of weight and age.

I agree with this article because I've found that people are physical also take better care of their bodies which helps to create a better lifestyle reducing their risk of major diseases. The article even went into ways communities can help by increasing the need to use physical activity, for example, using campaigns to increase the awareness of physical activity and its benefits. I also can agree with the statement that age and weight are independent factors related to physical activity reducing the contraction of breast cancer. Both myself and my grandmother is 68 are physically active and have been for awhile and both live healthy lives.
