Recent studies by Northern memorial hospital have uncovered new discoveries linking genes. In the results of their studies they found that individuals with the variant FTO gene have a greater chance of having breast cancer. The FTO gene is an obesity associated gene and it is only found in eighteen percent of individuals. Even though testing for this variant is not currently available it is a breakthrough and with these results scientists are again one step closer to personalized medicine, better monitoring and prevention of this horrible illness; breast cancer.Article was found at sciencedaily.com
This is a great news! Reading through the article I found that it could mean detecting this killer(Brest Cancer) easier, ensuring greater survival rate. Though its in elementary state, yet a ray for future has sparked.
