Have you ever found the dreaded belly button lint? Scientists have now studied the bacteria found in belly buttons. You may want to clean it now. The belly button is a haven for dead skin cell, bacteria and mold. Surprisingly not many people wash there belly buttons every day with soap. A group of scientist from North Carolina State University launch a Belly Button Biodiversity project. The studies have found Staphylococcus epidermidis, yellow colonies of Micrococcus, and gooey globs of Pseudomonas. I don't now how you feel about this but I'm going to think twice about my belly button before stepping out the shower.

This is the type of article that will make me think of this every time I shower! However, I'm actually not too surprised that this type of bacteria exists in the belly button, the thought of a dark, moist area of ANYTHING (including the body) makes me think of bacteria/mold growth.
