Isn't everyone's health goal to become happier, healthier, and slimmer?
Everyone has a unique body shape, metabolism, and lifestyle shaped by their experiences from childhood to adulthood. This underestimates the possibility that some individuals simply have better genes than others. The genes children contain are passed down from the genes from both the mother and father; the physical appearance that parents obtain from working out is rather not passed down to the offspring.
Lifestyle decisions can greatly influence a person's physical appearance. Beyond the impact of genetic inheritance, keeping up with regular physical activity, whatever that may mean for a given person, can frequently lead to weight loss and better health results. I strongly believe physical health is frequently more directly influenced by lifestyle choices like nutrition, exercise, and habits than by a person's parents' genetic makeup. My opinion might be wrong from the data collected from U.S. News stating, "About 62% of weight loss in the study was linked to genes, and 37% to exercise and lifestyle factors, researchers concluded."
It's amusing that U.S. News chose running without any changes to a person's diet. As an experimental method to suggest whether individuals with or without the "skinny gene" have greater weight-loss potential; without placing participants on a structured gym workout plan and or a strict diet. I feel like the research could have been better structured with more participants than the original 38 individuals.
As long as people are prioritizing their health, every effort counts toward building a healthier life and making positive changes to their weight.
