Brain Cell Genetics Illuminate Alzheimer’s Disease Pathways

Alzheimer's disease is the most common type of dementia, it is a progressive disease beginning with mild memory loss, and possibly leading to loss of the ability to carry on a conversation and respond to the environment. Alzheimer's disease involves parts of the brain that controls thought, memory and your language. This article that I chose specifically talk about how to understand Alzheimer's as well as pinpointing how specific the brain cells contribute to different stages of the diseases. In the article they talk about three major components which are cell-type specific genetic risk, Advanced sequencing techniques and implication for targeted treatment. Many diseases are severe and I think that Alzheimer's is importantly to understand that the autopsy data spanning all stages of disease severely. Many Alzheimer's diseases can risk the genes are specifically expressed in a microglia and astrocytes. in another article I discovered something interesting that newly identified genetic variant protects against Alzheimer's. The researchers who was led by Harvard Medical school investigators at Massachusetts general hospital stated that a newly identified variant which occurred in a different gene than the genetic variant in the same family.
I believe that Alzheimer's and many other diseases should be focused on, because diseases are important to learn about because with health people should realize that you should be educated in health to know what is going on in life.
In this Photo above shows that Alzheimer's affects many things such as memory, mood behavior and many more. so, I feel like a autopsy specifically a genetic risk contributed to earlier stages of the disease progress would help indicate the disease. even though this diseases mainly focuses on the brain cells it's could to know the symptoms of the disease.

  1. The mention of the three major components cell type specific genetic risk, advanced sequencing techniques, and implications for targeted treatment gave the multidimensional nature to Alzheimers research and to see how some genetic variants can possibly offer protection against the disease.

  2. Alzheimer is a serious condition because it can cause you to forget how you are or your surroundings. I knew it affected your memory, but I learned how it can affect your reasoning, behavior, mood, language, and coordination. I believe by understanding this disease can help prevent it. The study show how advance sequencing technique and implication can be a way to treat this disease.

  3. Alzheimer’s is not a fun disease to deal with for everyone involved. Watching your loved one suffer through something like this is tremendously painful. Just like you, I also believe that this disease and others like it should be focused on much more heavily. I know that the brain isn’t a complex machine but as time progresses, we are only getting closer to treatments that will help those affected.
