Mice for Vaccination Research

In order to develop a vaccine, scientists must use animals that are able to produce human antibodies through genetically engineered B cell receptors. B cell receptors are specialized antibodies bound to the B cell membrane. Researchers have developed a method that uses CRISPR/Cas9 technology to produce mice with genetically engineered human B cell receptors.
