World's Largest Family Tree!

At-home genetic testing kits like AncestryDNA and 23andMe have become increasingly popular.  Geni.com is another heritage mapping company with over 130 million family tree connections worldwide.  Using these profiles, researchers were able to link 13 million people, possibly creating the world’s largest family tree.  How creepy is that?!

  1. That's pretty crazy! I got my DNA tested through 23andMe and they're constantly notifying me of "new DNA relatives". They also recently started automatically putting you and your DNA relatives into an automatically generated pedigree.

  2. This should be a pretty amazing experience for people who have small families and don’t know much about their roots and ancestors. I’ve always wanted to search deep into my roots to find other relatives that wasn’t close to the known family that keeps in touch. Also Building off of the last comment. That’s pretty cool that they can send notifications when they have found another family member... Its certainly a start for a big family tree.
