In this article from Science Daily, talks about if the herpes virus is linked to Alzheimer's Disease. New data was provided that there is a link between HSV1 infection and senile dementia. New data shows that antiviral drugs has drastically reduced the risk of senile dementia patients that have serve herpes infections. They have found that HSV1 causes the same protein deposits known as "plaques and tangles" that are found in the brain of an a patient with Alzheimer's Disease. Viral DNA is located with in plaques on postmortem brain tissue. The main proteins that are found in the brain also have been found in the cell cultures. However this possible cure is only applies in cases that have serve HSV1
