Genetic Fossils

Whether it be a bone from a lost species to the very rocks we step on, fossils are everywhere. Deep underground hold the key to the past, riddled with genetic DNA that can allow to paint a picture of life before man. However one such animal may unlock the mystery behind animals millions of years ago.

Solenodons may hold the key to evolutionary change in the mammalian world. These critters are venom-biting, nocturnal animals that has its roots from 65 million years ago. Evidence shows that its early ancestors show little to know evolutionary change, implying a different evolutionary adaptation. However, scientists see different lineages that may seem confusing, yet still conforms to such evolutionary change. DNA molecules within its early ancestors backs the theory of genetically identical species, but more work needs to be done on such an extraordinary find.
