We have all heard about the glutten free craze. It has helped many individuals, even those who have not been diagnosed with Celiac disease. Celiac disease. Celiac disease causes an immune reaction to gluten. These individuals can range have a range of symptoms from constant bloating, upset stomach, constipation, diarrhea and so on. Some individuals do not even know they have it. People who have Celiac disease carry either one or both of the HLA DQ2 and DQ8 genes. This does not mean you have it, a liver biopsy would need to be preformed to confirm the prognosis. Removing glutten from one's diet gets rid of these symptoms. Even those who do not have the disease tend to feel much better on this new diet. It is not a common practice to test for this disease because the side effects of the test are yet to be determined.

  1. Celiac Disease seems very interesting in the sense that certain genes "cause" the diseases, and maybe it could be cured in the future using Crispr techniques.
