DHA and Babies’ Brains




With so many option for prenatal nutritional supplements, nearly all these product boast a “brain nourishing” omega-3 acid called DHA, despite decades of research, its still not clear how DHA boost brain health in babies. A systematic review of studied by Cochrane collaboration concluded there’s no evidence that fish oil improve brain development. But some other studied have found that mother take fish oil, their children are less likely to have eczema, food allergies or asthma. While people have different baseline level of DHA, depending on how much fish they eat, and genetic variation can affect fatty acid metabolism. How ever in united state many woman don’t seem to get enough DHA, while woman of childbearing age should be consume 200mg during pregnancy and breast-feeding. Therefore the best things you can do is eating a healthy balance diet and introduce fish into our future children diet.
