However with more in depth research scientists found that this method of DNA shedding has been around for hundreds of years and although the Y chromosome shedded its 1,000 genes down to about 17-20 it is not a contnuous process and is done shedding. Scientists continue to take a look and study this because it is a major deal but for now it has come to the conclusion the Y chromosome doesnt shed past 17 or 20 genes. This is good because if the world was rid of males it would ultimately lead to the extincton of human life after a certain amount of time (hypothetically).

Genetic Maker of Men Is Diminished but Holding Its Ground, Researchers Say
Ths artcle is on the subject of the Male chromosomes particular the Y chromosome. The article is stating that once the X and Y chromosome of the male shared some 1,000 genes and now with research the Y chromosome is merely the size it used to be because of the loss of so much DNA. According to research it was looking as tho the Y chromosome of the male would ultimately keep shedding so much DNA that it would dissapear and the world would be without males.

However with more in depth research scientists found that this method of DNA shedding has been around for hundreds of years and although the Y chromosome shedded its 1,000 genes down to about 17-20 it is not a contnuous process and is done shedding.
