Help a Rodent Out!

In this article scientists found first recorded signs of rats helping their fellow rat out. According to scientist, the rats were displayed empathy.  During the experiment one rat was put in a restrainer while the other rat was allowed to roam free. Scientists stated that the rat that was free seemed to get agitated when the other rat was restrained. This test was done several times. When the free rat discovered how to open the container it would act quickly to get it's companion out.

  1. I don't find this too hard to believe because many mammals have similar attributes of empathy. Whether it's my dog protecting my family or dolphins supposedly saving humans from sharks. It's pretty cool that it is shown in such an inferior intellectual mammal though.
