Genetic 'Ghosts' of a Long-Lost People Found in South America

 This article was a very interesting find, it shed light on how we as humans are not exempt from Darwin’s theories. 

                        

    In South America, near Argentina, scientists analyzed DNA from 238 ancient individuals spanning 10,000 years. In doing so they discovered a previously unknown human lineage, whose earliest representative lived around 8,500 years ago. Despite living in close proximity to several other known lineages, there is very little evidence of biological mixing in their history. 

    The research suggests that this is the main ancestry of central Argentina. Many individuals who have a long family history in the area share genetic markers for this “ghost” population, showing that they still live on in modern day Argentinians.
