A fascinating new study from scientists at the University of Utah, University of Washington, and PacBio is giving us a fresh look at how quickly our DNA can change. By studying a four-generation family from Utah and using five cutting-edge sequencing tools, the team found that each person had about 200 brand new genetic mutations that weren’t in their parents. Some parts of our DNA, especially the tricky, repetitive fragments are changing way faster than we thought. These areas have been tough to study until now, so this discovery opens up a whole new world of genetic insight.
My opinion: It is important to know the advancements that humans could take towards evolution. This topic is interesting because there is still so much that is unknown about human bodies and our DNA. This is something to be fully invested in to see what the future holds for us and to keep up with the constant changes.

This is so interesting. Knowing there could be 200 mutations that differentiate me from my parents is such a cool concept. I'm curious to see what this knowledge will change in the genetics field.
