In recent years we have seen the field of ancient DNA boom. Now a days we see starting in high school students sequencing whole genomes, and outside of school scientists being able to now read molecules from 2 million years ago.

The article starts with how in 1996 two students at a river stumbled across a scull which has now been dated to 8,500 years ago. This shows how crazy it is that with genes and little fragments of DNA we are able to trace back to that long ago and even be able to assemble a structure with current technology on what that person would have looked like. With being so short in the process of this type of DNA and technology I cannot wait to see what it holds for the future.
