Is Sexuality Correlated With Genetic Influence?

There has always been the question of whether or not sexuality is linked to genes within our body. Researchers have conducted many experiments to find an answer, but the answers were not clear... until now. The Institute of Molecular Medicine in Finland broke through and found some compelling answers. About 470,000 individuals were analyzed from the U.S.A and the United Kingdom. By looking through their genomic data, researchers were able to find five areas that have influence on sexuality. These variants ranged from smell to things like baldness in men. The newly conducted research and newfound data shows that sexuality is not due to just one factor, but multiple, with genetics being one of them.

  1. I found your article really interesting! It could easily be controversial to talk about why people have their personal preferences in sexuality, especially on a genetic foundation. Better understanding, might also help the LGTBQIA+ community, by further educating people on the science behind why people like certain things and you can't physically change that (nature).

  2. This is super interesting and unknown, I had no clue. I hope we find more answers to understand it better and educate ourselves more.
