Telomeres: Detection for Prostate Cancer

Telomeres are generally known to protect cells, and some might even call it a biomarker for aging. However, new studies have shown that telomeres can also show a correlation pertaining to prostate cancer. Telomeres measurement are hard to determine because of its small content; however, scientist, from John Hopkins, had to develop a method to measure telomeres which they called telomere-specific fluorescent in situ hybridization to detect telomeres.Scientists, from John Hopkins, have found that the more variant, and shorter telomere length in stroma died from prostate cancer much sooner than those of less variant, and longer telomere length.
If the correlation of telomere and prostate cancer can show more defining results, than I believe that if we can detect prostate cancer sooner we can inhibit it.
