Trying to find the origin of domestic dogs

This article goes into the research being done by Gregor Larson from the university of Durham in England. The professor took DNA from 1375 dogs a121 species and 19 wolves. The found out that all the modern breeds of dogs have such a mixed genetic background that their genetic history was obscured. The also found that the basenji, shar-pei, Saluki, Akita, Finnish spitz and Eurasier had the least obscured genetic history. Finally they compared the locations of these dogs and instead of finding the dogs are from a certain area they found they were all very isolated in location
