Genes, Osteoporosis, and Bone Fracture

According to a news article on ScienceDaily researches have discovered specific variations in the genes of humans that may lead to Osteoporosis. Leading researches from Sweden and all over the planet stated that women with a larger amount of genetic differences then others involving Osteoporosis have over a 5o% chance of having a bone fracture. The researches have discovered 56 individual regions that have a direct effect on bone density within humans. Of those 56, 14 of them have deviations that lead to an increase in the chance of contracting Osteoporosis and having a bone fracture.

Along with the data on whom may be more susceptable to getting Osteoporosis, they also found ways to help  with better medical procedures. With the new information they have discerned the location of multiple molecular pathways involved in bone density. With this new data they will be able to apply it to various new treatments and other therapies to help people.
