Autism
A recent article published on Health.com says that researchers may have found a possible genetic link to autism. Researchers have discovered and alternate gene called semaphoring 5A, which is thought to drive cell growth in the brain region specifically neuron-nueron communication. Andy Shih PhD and vice president of Autism Speaks doesn’t believe that the researchers have found anything too conclusive just yet. Though more research is required, scientists believe that there may be over 100 genes that may potentially play a role in the inheritance of autism.

Autism in general is a very hot topic today. Many firmly believe it is a environmental issue other swear by genes. The fact that autism was virtually unknown until recent times make me believe it could be both. This research could never be more important with autism on the rise.
