So I found an article that makes the connection between the body being more receptive to dopamine, to sexual promiscuity. The article states that they found a gene called DRD4 is "linked, through previous studies, to feel-good, sensation-seeking behavior such as the use of alcohol, illegal drugs and gambling". They figure that promiscuity can lead to some feel good sensations, so its grouped in with these other behaviors.
They tested a small population of Birmingham University students, tested them for the gene and got their history to come to a "solid" enough conclusion that this gene goes with this behavior.
It seems more valid than there being a gene for being Liberal, but only because they've done this research before and found this gene before for the previous "pleasure-seeking" behaviors. At the same time though, it's not really that believable to me.
Very interesting I hope to see people use the excuse when they cheat on their spouse "My genes made me do it !!!" I found it to be a little fishy when they said they tested their theory on only college students. College students are regarded all the time as still being children and are worn by their parents don't get married your still too young, thing will end up bad if you do, etc. So when it mentioned that you are more likely to cheat they needed to test on a larger population of different ages and different relationship status and environmental factors on how well/long was their relationship to being with or what factors besides genetics caused them to cheat like "Oh he never took me to the movies, etc." College students relationships are never really strong enough in most cases and they are more likely to cheat anyway because of other factors like their friends telling them to hit on another person or they don't like your girlfriend etc. Still it does seem like a fun finding to further research.
