Upon reading this article its quite interesting how we can look at genetics today. with just a drop of saliva or the tiniest amount of blood or any even a millimeter of hair we can determine a persons DNA. well after reading this article it get more interesting with using the mothers DNA to determine the DNA of the child. In Hong Kong scientists using parts to DNA in the mother Blood Have Pieced together the entire DNA structure of the unborn child. The genetic make was so precis that they were able to test for genetic diseases.

Scientists from Hong-Kong University said that they found the fetus's DNA in the mother blood Plasma and that about 10% of the DNA in pregnant women is the fetus's DNA.

  1. I am not surprised that scientists are now able to do this. It is already known that when a baby is created half of its genes are from the mother and half are from the father. So, it makes sense that a baby and its mother would share DNA; they are blood-related. It is very cool that they are able to put together the child's entire DNA structure and that this procedure is a lot safer than previous procedures were. However, I'm sure that studying the father's DNA would also give some insight into possible diseases the child could inherit.
