Fighting Skin Cancer

I found this article specifcally interesting for multiple reasons. I enjoy reading and learning how everyday is a constant struggle and battle against disease, cancers, or other harmful things in the world of genetics. This article discusses how the inhibitation of the enzyme HDAC could prevent the growth of tumors on the skin. As the debate over global warming rages on and artificial tanning on the rise, this could be a very helpful discovery to many.

I find it incredible that one small enzyme or something of such nature can be responbsible for something so drastic. Personally, although easily removed, skin cancer runs in my family so this information is particulary important to me and caught my attention. I'm sure other people can relate and I would like to see how this information further contributes to the battle against skin cancer.

  1. This article caught my attention because skin cancer also runs in my family. I am interested to see if the clinical trials of HDAC on a variety of tumors proves to be successful, and if further research will lead to new treatments of skin cancer.
