Since it is not as common as a disease like diabetes, more research is not used to try and solve this disease. Only those that donate large amounts usually get any real treatment when it comes to CF patients. Would love to see that change in the coming years with gene therapy!Matthew Metzlerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07100327831572638416noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3360356351594869925.post-3285718927831300242019-08-06T13:00:31.869-04:002019-08-06T13:00:31.869-04:00I am part of a delta phi epsilon, a sorority on ca...I am part of a delta phi epsilon, a sorority on campus at Stockton. One of our philanthropies is actually the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. CF is super painful to those who have it and their families, but because not enough of the population is affected, it is not government funded. Research is done through private donations and other sources. There has been tremendous success so far. The life expectancy for a child with CF has sky rocketed. However, it is far from being cured. This post was very interesting to see how there is more success being made to work on fixing the root cause of CF. Hopefully soon the drug will be cheaper for everyone to be able to utilize it.
